Project “Buffalo Commons” is a pioneering venture, unlike any other before it. Fences will be torn down to allow herds of buffalos, thousands strong, to roam freely across the vast plains, in the hope that a rise in tourism and the efficient production in buffalo meat will provide the people of this region with security and a new future.
While at first these plans are met with severe scepticism, politicians, Native Americans, farmers and ranchers soon realise the amazing potential of the project. Return of the Buffalo - Restoring the Great American Prairie will take you on a journey across the states of North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Montana and Kansas to discover the real American Midwest.
